I am the KSD high school social studies teacher. I previously taught social studies, reading, arts and humanities, and team taught English in KSD's middle school with Ann Arnold. I have been teaching at the Kentucky School for the Deaf since 1982 and started in the Junior High here teaching reading, speech, and auditory skills. I have come full circle because I taught many years in the elementary department before moving to the middle school and now I am back in the high school this year.
I have a BS from Illinois State University in Deaf Education K-12 and an MA from Eastern Kentucky University in Teaching History 6-12. I have elemenatry and secondary certification also. Besides teaching here at KSD, I also teach dance classes at the Danville/Boyle County recreation center. I love the arts and try to incorporate them when I can into my classroom.
I am married and have three children, Alexandra, who happens to be KSD's art teacher, Maddie works in Washington DC, and Max who is a senior at Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH. I also have two dogs at home, Hazel and Murphy.
